Who doesn’t want a bathroom in their home that feels (and looks!) like a spa? Sometimes when you purchase an older house, the bathroom can be pretty outdated. The experts at Floor Coverings International® of Hillsborough share some big and small tips that can totally makeover the look of your bathroom!
Add a Fresh Coat of Paint
Something as simple as painting the walls or putting up a funky wallpaper design can really change the look of a bathroom. If it’s a small bathroom, try painting the walls a lighter color such as baby blue or mint. If it’s larger and you want to go for it, try putting up fun wallpaper such as gold stripes or polka dots.
Buy New Towels and a Shower Curtain
If your bathroom isn’t in too bad of shape (or you don’t have the budget to change it all) simply getting a new shower curtain and towels can really change the look of the bathroom. If the bathroom is on the smaller side or doesn’t have a window, try to find a lighter color scheme to brighten it up. You can even add a fun area rug to the floor to bring in some more character.
Update the Flooring
Is your current bathroom floor getting dingy, or just not your style? Updating the flooring is another huge way to completely change the look of a bathroom. If you chose to go with fun wallpaper, why not do a white subway tile for the floors? If you painted the walls a simple taupe, try going with a bold, laminate black and white design.
Update the Counter
If the cupboards are still in great shape, but it’s the counter that you don’t like – change that! You can even give the cupboards a fresh coat of paint to match the new counter. Countertops can get pretty banged up with daily use, so something as simple as replacing that can make a huge impact.
Add Some Design
Something as simple as hanging up new curtains, adding a plant, or hanging up a photo can really change the feel of a bathroom. This is a minimal cost that will make a huge impact.
