If you’re thinking about upgrading your floors, don’t forget about your furry friends! We know our customers in Princeton love their pets but unfortunately, cats and dogs can take a toll on floors if you’re not careful. Our flooring experts at Floor Coverings International Hillsborough are here to help you make the right choice when it comes to your flooring.
What is the best flooring for pets?
Luxury Vinyl Flooring
Our top choice for pet-friendly flooring is Vinyl! The technology behind vinyl flooring is getting better every year and we feel confident in recommending it as a great option for those with pets.
There are stain and scratch-resistant options available as well as a huge selection of different styles. If you like the look of tile or hardwood flooring but don’t like the price tag, this is an excellent option. Finally, we know that accidents happen, which is why going with water-resistant vinyl is highly recommended!
A very close runner up is tile flooring! The only thing stopping it from being our first recommendation is the price point. If it’s in your budget, tile is an excellent pet-friendly choice.
Water-resistant, stain-resistant, and very scratch resistant makes this a winner. The one downside is that your feet might be a little chilly on cold mornings! If you have durability in mind, we recommend tile flooring.
Next up is laminate flooring! The ease of maintenance for laminating flooring is one of the top reasons why we recommend this flooring. Pets can be messy and we don’t want you to spend all day cleaning up after them! It’s not quite as scratch resistant as the other options but scratches won’t show up as much as they would on hardwood floors.
Laminate flooring has some great styles that mimic hardwoods as well. The only downside is that laminate flooring can be a little slick. Your pets might end up sliding around a little more than normal.
