Picking out the best bathroom flooring for your space shouldn’t be a difficult task. Our design experts here at Floor Coverings International Hillsborough can help you decide on the perfect flooring option. There are three main criteria that we look at when helping you choose, performance, style, and price.

Ceramic and Natural Stone

When it comes to your bathroom flooring performance, you should be looking at its water resistance, how it handles humidity, and durability. Flooring solutions that are quite common are ceramic tile and stone flooring.

Ceramic tile for your bathroom floor will perform quite well when it comes to water resistance and humidity. You won’t need to worry about water resistance or humidity issues when it comes to ceramic tile. They’re relatively low maintenance and come in a variety of styles. The price is manageable and they don’t chip very easily!

When it comes to natural stone, the styles available can really bring out the best in your bathroom. Granite, travertine, marble, and slate are all excellent choices that will give your space that luxurious feeling that might be missing. The only downside is that natural stone is often a pricier option.

Vinyl Flooring

We love vinyl flooring as an option because of the ease of installation and an abundance of styling opportunities. Advances in vinyl flooring technology have led to waterproof and water-resistant options that are perfect for bathrooms. However, the completely waterproof options will be a little less budget-friendly.

The installation process is relatively easy as well! If you’re on a time crunch, this is a viable option. It’s important to consider that vinyl flooring installation likely won’t increase the resale value of your home and if installed incorrectly can look cheap.

Engineered Hardwood

If you want to go for a hardwood aesthetic, engineered hardwood flooring is an excellent option. It responds well to heat and humidity but is often not 100% waterproof. The price can be a little steep, but the natural wood feel and interesting styling can make it all worth it!
